DO call it a comeback! THE FUNKTASTICS are a dynamic duo of self taught singers, songwriters, musicians, producers and performers who joined forces to bring the FUNK back to the forefront. Tauros (originally from Detroit, MI) and Barsheem (originally from Brooklyn, NY) formed the duo in Los Angeles in 2005. They immediately locked down in the studio and released two independent albums ”Funktastic Party” (2005) and “Funktastics In The Sky” (2007). They landed a year long residency at The Stone Bar in Thai Town Hollywood then moved on to do B.B. Kings Night Club, The House of Blues, private events and countless shows on The 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, CA. They built a strong cult like following still present to this day. Fans have attributed The Funktastics sound to being the sons of James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and Prince. This inspired them to create the single “Homage” that pays homage to all of their main influences.

In 2008 The Funktastics went on hiatus to focus on solo projects and to build their own indie label, 333 Music LLC. As 2019 approached

they decided to record new music but the pandemic struck and rocked the music industry. Not letting anything slow their process they again locked down in the studio to remaster their 2 previous albums and work on a new project. Tauros says “We’ve been away for so long we just thought the best thing to do would be to re-introduce ourselves to the world and new music fans by looking back and shining a light on the timeless music that made The Funktastics.” With the current throwback sounds like The Weeknd's 80's vibe and the Bruno Mars/Anderson Paak’s “Leave The Door Open” single, The Funktastics fit perfectly in the middle with their Funky-Futuristic sound. The latest project includes a remastered collection of their first two albums and an explosive 5 song EP of unreleased tracks, collectively titled,
